The science of near-field sleep audio
Lull does not fight your pillow, it recruits it. Sound from the driver conducts through the pillow fill and reaches your ear from a few centimetres away, so it arrives clear at a fraction of the loudness earbuds or a room speaker would need. The fill itself muffles what little escapes outward.
Because nothing sits in or on your ear, there is no ear-canal pressure, nothing to dislodge when you turn over, and no seal trapping warmth against your skin. At typical sleep volumes it is also a hearing-friendlier way to listen late at night.
